LN Scores Conference Paper Hat Trick |
Liquid Narrative Group researchers score hat trick, three for three in recent conference submissions LN graduate students Leo Bae, Pat Cash and Jim Thomas have all received news that papers reporting their recent research efforts have been accepted at leading conferences relating to AI and Computer Games. Working with their advisor Michael Young, the three have made contributions ranging from a greater understanding of the creation of surprise in computer-created narratives to tools that help game developers make use of AI knowledge representations to models of learning in computer games that can be captured by intelligent systems. The references for each of the publications are included here: - Thomas, James and Young, R. Michael, Dynamic Guidance in Digital Games: Using an Extensible Plan-Based Representation of Exploratory Games to Model Student Knowledge and Guide Discovery Learning, to appear in the Working Notes of the Intelligent Educational Games Workshop at the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Education (AIED 09), Brighton, UK, July, 2009.
